ABOUT ME
Growing up, I had the best childhood memories, there are so many nostalgic moments such as riding the train to school, going to Manhattan with my friends to have an awesome slice of New York style pizza, embracing all stylistic differences and being surrounded in this oasis of so many eclectic people, ethnicities, culture, etc.
Ruminating upon these moments in my life, I always wondered and struggled with my Identity, have you also experienced this?
To unpack it all, I yearned to be the best version of myself, yet I would look in the mirror and see two images.
Metaphorically speaking, looking into the mirror, I would see an image of how the world wanted to conform me to be and through a spiritual lens, I knew deep down, in the depths of my soul, I was created in the image of God.
I battled with this duality of living a life, full of abundant blessings, as a little girl going to church with my mom and my brother, listening to the priest at the pulpit, talking about the love and benevolence of Jesus Christ, wearing a garment of praise, and obeying God’s commandments.
In this day and age, it is very apropos to shift the posture of my heart and lean in, so there’s no passivity from God‘s plan and purpose for my calling.
Furthermore, why am I caught in these cycles of confusion, allowing the deceitful and evil ways of the world to steal my happiness and peace?
Wholeheartedly, I know God can’t leave me because he can’t deny himself, and I am created in the image of him.
So my insecurities, struggles, and resisting acts of a sinful nature, all fall short of his glory and I don’t want to live in a fool’s paradise.
The words Grow in Grace, By Faith emulate
God’s Grace (Grace - the unmerited favor of God) and Faith, which personifies trust and confidence.
I meet so many people that have shared their personal stories of always asking for more…. Such as, What is their purpose in life? What does God have planned for their destiny? or feeling empty in their day-to-day walk, longing for something that will enhance their spiritual growth.
I truly believe that we won’t grow and thrive in our comfort zone and we need to tap into the transformative power of faith!
God has carefully planned a good future for us. Through his son, Jesus Christ, my Savior, the salvation and righteousness that we have is a gift from the heavens above.
God has empowered me to change, through repentance, progressive prayer, and not shrinking in any dark shadows to hide, so my faith in God is rendered unshakable.
Rightfully so, I know we are all grateful for where we are, and most excited for where we are going.
Take this journey with me, and let us commune together, ushering in God’s presence so when we look in the mirror, we know that our true identity is an intimate exchange through the love of Jesus Christ, because my friend, you are loved and you are chosen.
Be Blessed!
Always,
Jasmine
